Papers include bills and receipts for Jacob Awl, a tanner in Dauphin County, paid for cash payments and goods bought and sold. The five receipts primarily offer the date and amount of the transaction, in addition to the names of payers and payees. One of the receipts is a request for cash for John Harris, the founder of Harrisburg, Pa. One receipt is for bricks received by Awl in 1789, for an unknown purpose.
